The Government has promised to scrap speed-control for motorcycles, thanks to five years of campaigning by MCN, backed by the signatures of 6000 of you on our online petition.

The petition against technology that takes control away if riders speed was one of the most successful in MCN’s history, collecting 6000 signatures in just one month after it was launched on August 11, 2006, and still rising by around 400 names each week.

It’s resulted in roads minister Stephen Ladyman saying we should always be allowed to choose the speed of our bikes for ourselves, with an offical Department for Transport spokesman revealing that, “A decision has been taken by the minister that it’s never going to be mandated.”
