2007 Kawasaki VN900

New bikes

 23 September 2006 00:00

The 2007 Kawasaki VN900 Custom has undergone several changes to become a closer competitor to the Harley-Davidson 883.

It gets polished alloy wheels rather than spoked versions, with a 21" front and a 15" rear which is fitted with a 180mm tyre to give the rear end a solid appearance and contrast with the taller and thinner front. There's a new minimalist headlight and straight bars, plus a sculpted fuel tank. And the rear mudguard is shortened for a sportier look.

The engine is the same 903cc V-Twin as the current model, with chormed engine covers, deep fins on the cylinder and cylinder head, and anything that isn't chromed has been powder-coated black. The engine istelf has been tuned for response and acceleration, particularly in the mid-range area. The long wheelbase helps stablility at speed, but the fork offest and rake geomtery are set to aid low speed handling.
