AMD Euro Custom Championships: P-Tang bike

1 of 1

The overall top-rated bikes from the 2007 AMD European Championship might be grabbing all the attention, but in the smaller classes there’s still some hot metal to ogle.

The P-Tang from Young Choppers in the US uses a Harley frame and engine (a 1948 H-D wishbone frame and 1966 Shovelhead motor), but the styling job is so good it would take a real anorak to distinguish this from a one-off creation. The flat-tracker styling comes courtesy of a massive 23” spoked front wheel and a custom tank, rear mudguard and sprung seat. The hydraulic forks are shrouded for a clean look. Tyres are Bridgestone Trailwing off-road items, and for the authentic flat-track look there’s no front brake, and only the original drum rear stopping a standard Harley rear wheel.

The motor is also tidied up with dress-up parts and a set of straight through pipes. The bike is finished with the distinctive ‘P-Tang’ paintwork and a blended of chromed and painted parts.
