Breaking motorcycle news – First riding impressions from the Suzuki B-King World Launch

First rides & tests

MCN Editor Marc Potter has just filed his first riding report from the world press launch of the 2008 Suzuki B-King.

Potter was the very first rider outside the official Suzuki test team to ride the massive 1340cc naked bike – riding motorcycle number one in group A gave Marc a taste of the bike before anyone else.

Speaking just moments after completing the first session this morning at the testing Lausitzring circuit in Germany, Potter said ‘The bike’s size is intimidating when you first sit on it but as soon as you get rolling all that’s forgotten. Suzuki test riders said to me last night that it would be a close fight on their test track between the B-King and a GSX-R600.

“To be honest, when I heard that I laughed at them but after these first few laps on the bike riding it here, I think they could be right.

“Unsurprisingly, given that the bike has a claimed 181.5bhp, the B-King is an absolute rocketship. You can almost forget using the gearbox because it’s got so much torque on tap.”

For more updates on what the B-King’s like to ride and video clips of the test check back here later this morning.
