The summer sunshine has prompted me to make the most of my Honda Hornet, with two big rideouts, a dyno run, and taking the scenic (longest and twistiest) route home every day. Oh, and a trip to the World Superbikes at Brands Hatch, plus a day of Advanced Rider training.
The first event was the Hornet's Nest club's annual Swarm event at Squire's Cafe at Sherburn-in-Elmet. It ran from Friday to Sunday, but work commitments meant that I had to make a last minute dash on Satruday monring to arrive with seconds to spare before the ride-out headed off. See a gallery of just some of the Hornets and riders who were there, here.
The second ride-out was one for MCN readers, starting from our offices in Peterborough. It coincided with one of the first truly sunny days for a while, which helped us to get a very good turnout of around 23 bikes, along with fellow MCN staffers Chris Newbigging and Angus Farquhar on their Triumph Speed Triple and BMW X-Country. See what happened ont he MCN rideout, here.
