Pierre Terblanche, Ducati’s design boss for the last decade, has left the firm to set up a design studio of his own.

Terblanche, who can count designs including the Ducati 900SS, 999, Supermono and Multistrada among his achievements, will officially leave Ducati at the end of the year.

Speaking to MCN, he said: “I’m not with Ducati as from the end of this year, and as from next year I’m free to pursue other interests.

“I’d like to do some new things. I’ll have a studio of my own, and while I’ll still do bikes I’d also like to work on some other things, maybe boats.
“At heart I am a really a designer, not a manager, and this will give me the chance to do new things.”
