On Wednesday morning (August 1, 2007) we’ll be bringing you the first impressions of what the long-awaited Suzuki B-King motorcycle is like to ride.

The bike’s been on show since the 2001 Tokyo Show but nobody outside the factory has yet to ride it, until Wednesday when MCN Editor Marc Potter will be let loose at the Sachsenring circuit in Germany.

Suzuki has chosen to launch the 2008 motorcycle at the track near Dresden in East Germany, known for it’s tight and twisty circuit. Why they’re launching the mammoth 2008 Suzuki motorcycle that weighs 235kg (518lb) is another matter that will only become clear if you click back on Wednesday morning for constant updates on what the bike is like to ride.

And another thing...

Notwithstanding the ugly comments... why does this naked bike weigh 235kg? In 2007 ?? My Buell has a push-rod engine from a tractor circa 1895 and still manages to weigh 179kg. What's the B-King made of, lead? It's going to need all of that 180bhp to shift that lard around.... lard, ah... Burger King! All becomes clear.

I'm not impressed...

I think there's been too much hype personally. It surely can't live up to the hyoe its had over the past few years can it? If Kawasaki were smart they'd have already developed a stripped naked ZZR1400 to kick its ass but maybe they want to see if Suzuki get the sales first. Its a beefy bike and I like muscle bikes but it might be just a tad too cartoon for even me.

Easy guys! You make some fair points about the styling. It's definitely not for everyone, but I'm holding judgement until I see it in the metal on Wednesday morning. Shame about the supercharger, but with a rumoured 180+bhp, it shouldn't be exactly sluggish!

Ugly is as ugly does

Yeah, I second that ugly rating. If this had come out in 2002, it would have been amazing, now its just too late, too watered down and with the worst cans this side of a Max Power Vauxhall Nova. Look at the other radical naked bikes out there from Aprillia, Ducati and KTM. Where are the funky LED indicators and where is the supercharger that would have made it the lunatic bike we were hoping for? Yawn.

Why would anyone want a bike that looks like it has already been in a heavy accident? This bike is f-ugly, especially from the rear. Suzuki designs have been very lacking over the last few years. I can see that the price on these will crash quicker than Chris Walker on the Suzuki BSB superbike.
