MV Agusta has confirmed that they are about to launch yet another version of the MV Agusta F1000 – but instead of a mere paint change, the new bike is a tuned 193mph weapon!
Based on the F41000R, the new bike will be named the ‘F4 R 312’ uses a fire-breathing version of the 998cc inline-four to power the bike to 312km/h (hence the name), which is 193mph!
Although an MV Agusta spokesperson confirmed the bike’s existence, they are keeping tight lipped about exactly how the bike will reach it’s target speed. The £69,000 limited run F4 CC uses a big-bore version of the engine to attain a similar speed, so it’s possible that the R 312 will use this engine. MV are also closely the monitoring several race teams across the globe who are tuning the 998cc motor for more power, so another option is that lessons learnt from the race bike will be used to hike power. MCN’s experts reckon at least rear-wheel bhp will be needed to achieve this – other versions of the motor give around 155bhp true bhp at the wheel, so MV’s engineers will have to work carefully to make sure the added power isn’t at the expense of reliability.
