Speeding police officer avoids ban

While there is a natural tendency to lack sympathy when police officers are hoisted by their own petard, we should emphasise that the officer in question drive at 89mph because at the time he judged that it was safe to do so. This is why we all speed routinely, both police and public alike. Instead of getting all holier than thou, we need to constantly be making the point that the current speed enforcement policy using cameras is both iniquitous and unnecessary. We must campaign for the abolition of speed cameras and for the scrapping of all planes to attach tracking devices to motor vehicle.
