North East Lincolnshire Council has made the centre of Grimsby more motorcycle friendly by incorporating kerb-mounted ground anchors into a city centre redevelopment scheme.
The anchors are produced by Metric Parking and are designed to fit into the space normally occupied by a kerb stone, to eliminate any danger of pedestrians tripping over a regular ground anchor, which would protrude from the pavement surface.
Grimsby is one of the first cities in the UK to actively install the kerb anchors, which were included to offer secure parking facilities for motorcycles and scooters.
