Mum fined for motorcycle parking confusion

A mother out on a shopping trip in Garforth, Leeds had a surprise to find a £70 fine on her car upon returning to her vehicle.

Michelle Ellis, who has three children under three years old, parked in an area marked MC after believing it to be a Mother and Child area.

It was only after her £70 ticket that she realised her error that it was in fact a motorcycle parking bay and advised another car driver who was also about to park in the marked off zone.

Ellis is now asking her local council to mark motorcycle parking with a motorcycle sign rather than the MC currently used.
