Department for Transport figures just released show that motorcycle tax evasion was just 6.5% in 2007 - not 38% as claimed just weeks ago when bikers were lambasted in Parliament for dodging tax.
The rate of unlicensed motorcycles in traffic was 6.5%. The rate of unlicensed motorcycles in active stock was slightly higher at 9.8% although no clarification of what 'Active Stock' is was actually provided.
Both figures were the highest for any traffic group in the survey.
