A petition asking London Mayor Boris Johnson not to let motorcyclists use bus lanes has gained over 3,000 signatures, according to the London Cycling Campaign.

The group is urging Johnson to rethink his decision to open London’s bus lanes to motorcycles, claiming it will lead to a rise in pedestrian and cyclist casualties.

Tom Bogdanowicz, LCC’s campaigns manager, said: “The petition will be handed to the Mayor on Wednesday.”

The group’s petition states: “We, the undersigned, request that London Mayor Boris Johnson does not make a snap decision to allow motorbikes to use bus lanes, a move that could endanger the lives of cyclists and pedestrians.”
