Colin Jones won £10,000 after being hit by a police van on his motorcycle
Thousands in compensation for biker hit by police van

A biker who was seriously injured after hitting a police van with his motorcycle has been awarded thousands in damages.
Colin Jones, 45, spent a month in hospital and couldn’t work for three years after the police van pulled out in front of him on the wrong side of the road.
Four years later he is still suffering with problems in his knee and leg but a judge has ruled in Mr Jones' favour, forcing Greater Manchester Police (GMP) to make an immediate interim payment of £10,000.
A second hearing to determine exactly how much he should be paid altogether will be held in a month.
At Manchester Civil Courts of Justice, lawyers acting for GMP argued that police van driver PC Andrew Coyne was not at fault, despite an accident investigation report which described him as `blameworthy'.
