Manchester bikers slow to show congestion charging views

Greater Manchester council is urging motorcyclists to get on-board its consultation regarding the proposed introduction of a congestion charge in the city.

The public is currently being asked for its views on which vehicles should have to pay the charge, and which should get exemptions.

A spokeswoman for the council says motorcyclists have been sluggish to argue their case for an exemption from any future charge. “We want biker’s views to be clearly heard,” she told MCN.

The consultation runs until October 11, and can be accessed by logging onto www.gmfuturetransport.co.uk
