The Motorcycle Industry Association’s (MCIA) annual Ride to Work Day is scheduled to take place on Wednesday July 16.

The day forms part of the MCIA’s National Motorcycle Week, and aims to promote the benefits of commuting on two wheels.

A number of celebrities have signed up to support the 2008 event, including comedian Paddy McGuinness, TV presenter Dominic Littlewood, and DJ and record producer Carl Cox.

MCIA spokesman Craig Carey-Clinch says the day would also look to encourage prospective riders to sit their tests, in addition to promoting the congestion-busting benefits of motorcycles.
