Kawasaki has announced a surprise fourth new bike at the European launch of the VN1700. The VN900 Light Tourer adds a screen, passenger back rest, spot lights and saddlebags to extend the range of their entry-level cruiser for what Kawasaki hopes will be a small £400-600 premium over the £5999 base machine.
But Kawasaki is awaiting YOUR reaction to decide whether to bring the bike to the UK. If the small-bore VN floats your boat – which would bring the VN900 range to three, with the Classic and Custom – let them know by commenting on this article or voting in our poll.
All the parts are taken from the Kawasaki accessories lineup; Kawasaki says it has chosen to offer the belt-driven Light Tourer as a stand-alone model to show people how seriously its compact cruiser can be taken as a touring machine. We’ll be riding the VN900 Light Tourer tomorrow when we’ll be able to confirm if they’re right.
