Last stock of 2009 Yamaha R1 until July in dealers now

This is the bike manufacturers answer to the credit crunch. As the Pound is so weak against the Yen and other currencies they have had to increase the list price in the UK to what it is at now, circa £10k. In past years they always had surplus stock at year end and had to discount to sell them, now there is simply not the margin so import quantities have been reduced. All the OEM's will do this so don't expect any big reductions come end of season when the surplus stock needs off loading ready for the 2010 models, it won't happen like it did in 2006, 7 , 8. I'm just glad I got my bike when they were cheap and now I'll keep hold of it for longer than I normally do as the cost to get a newer version simply isn't worth it for me. GSXR1000K&/8 was £7500 with a pair of Arrow cans, the K9 is £10k with horrid cans that you'd have to replace, add in a power commander, filter, remap costs and you're looking at £11k for a new bike that you won't be any faster on the road on, it'll only have the benefit of an 09 plate. I'll keep my 57 plate thanks.
