Take a test ride and win with Honda this weekend

1 of 3

Anyone who test rides a Honda this weekend has a chance to win a new bike. To be eligible you just have to book online and take out a bike any time between Friday 20th and Monday 23rd February.

We decided to take Honda up on their offer and booked rides on the Honda VFR800 and the Honda CB1000R at Marshall Honda in Peterborough.

Most of Honda’s new model range are available to ride, including everything from the funky new DN-01 right through to the flagship CBR1000RR Fireblade. But according to staff at Marshall Honda it’s the practical VFR800 that has proved most popular with their customers.

Are you planning on taking one out, or have you done so already? If so let us know what you rode and what you thought of it by commenting on this article.

Here’s our impressions of the bikes we went for a spin on:

Sam Pinney: “The VFR800 is such a good all-rounder. The riding position is nice and roomy. Despite the bike feeling quite top-heavy at a standstill it’s deceptively light on the go. Plus the V-tec isn’t scary at all, despite all the horror stories I’ve heard about it. On the way back to the dealership I was already planning trips to Europe in my head…”

James Keen: “What a great bike, horizon-blurringly fast yet no more intimidating to ride than my Hornet 600. The riding position is comfortable but still pitches you over the front in a fun elbows-out streetfighter style. Spot on for this type of bike. It doesn’t seem to matter what gear you’re in, it just pulls. You could easily commute on this and still have a wicked time on it at the weekend.”

Thinking of getting a VFR or a CB1000R? MCN Compare could save you money on your motorcycle insurance.
