Ducati bosses’ pay slashed

Ducati bosses have had their pay slashed and bonuses cancelled as the economics crisis tightens its grip on the bike market.

The firm said senior executives had voluntarily taken a 10% wage cut after new bike sales in Italy dropped 38.8% in January.

It did not reveal its own sales figures but said its share of the market had risen from 11.2% to 12.5%.

Italian manufacturers including Ducati are calling for help through the crisis from their government.
