Welsh Motorcycle Show cancelled

The Dyfed-Powys police in Wales have objected to the licence given to South Wales Motorcycle Shows Ltd and revoked the licence to hold their annual show – the Welsh Internaltional Show, held every year at Builth Wells showground in Mid Wales.

The reason Dyfed-Powys have given is that information has been received that the Hells Angels and the Outlaws would go there and cause trouble, the Police however will not give any firm information.

I would like to point out that this particular show is not run by either of the two motorbike clubs mentioned, it’s purely an open show for anyone with children and familys to attend, in fact they have their own security people and don’t allow anyone entry who is wearing a “Patch” or “Colours”.

I also was mistaken by thinking this was a free country, however, it seems that if the Police don’t want something then they can object and get their own way. Does this mean that any show involving motorcycles will now get the same attention by the Police.

The Builth show has been running for years with no problems from the public that attended.
