Also have a look at the pofessional cyclists descending some of the alpine and pyrenean mountain passes during the Tour de France. If its a really fast descent for the cyclists the motorcycles that follow the race sometimes have difficulty keeping up. The cyclists will reach speeds between 50 and 65 mph cornering on an inch of rubber. It can be a great white knuckle ride if you try it yourself. Mind you when they over cook it it can lead to some horrendous injuries.

I rode over this hill in 2006. It was the first week of June and I had to paddle through a snow slide a couple of hundred meters below the summit. At the very top were a load of disgustingly fit cyclists. I was knackered on the old Suzuki never mind peddling. Its an experience thats worth the trip.

This movie is not Florida to Alaska but in the Frenche Alpes, summer 2008. Also with R1 Sjaak on his worldtravelbike and me on the R1 with he is now doing Alaska. In this movie Sjaak is still a sleep on the camping 23 km from the top. I went up alone
