The eagerly anticipated 848 Evo replaces the current 848 and costs just £10,695 (or £9995 for the matt black ‘Dark Stealth’ version) – no more than the previous model. It’s the cheapest way to experience the ultimate in corning kicks from a true red-blooded Ducati superbike.

i had a 749 from new for three years and it was a paragon of reliability, wouldn't hesitate buying another duke.

I am trying to make it a point to say this every time the 848 is mentioned in hopes that MCN will listen. COMPARO WITH GSX-R750 AND TRIUMPH 675!!! I had an 848 as a loaner before and test rode the 675, but never back to back and never rode a gs-r. anyone else want to see this?

GSXR 750 vs 848 Evo

Well the OTR price of the Gixxer is around £9500 and an 848 Stealth is £9995 so it's priced quite well against it's nearest Japanese equivalent. I'd love one if i could afford it, maybe in a couple of years i'll be able to but by then there'll be something else i am drooling over :)

Interesting that one of the people taking a pop at Ducati reliability is called Busa666 so we can assume that there is a link to Suzuki, which is the Japanese company that Ducati are on a par with as far as warranty returns are concerned. Having owned three Dukes from new, still got two of them including an ST2 I bought new in 1997 and a 999 in 2006 and I have never had a moments bother with them. The 600SS I had pervious from 94 to 97 was also faultless. The bottom line is that Ducati are showing the way these days and amen to that I say. Belissimo
