enough of the HP crap
Sorry but I just had to join MCN purely to say to Yamboy2007 that you would not piss all over the new Z so please stop talking crap! Fair enough the Yam has slightly more HP but for street riding it's the grunt of the thing thats more important, and the Z1000 has a bit more grunt than the Yam. (The difference seems minimal anyway)
I've ridden one of the first gen Fazers and recently the new Z1000, and for me the most impressive thing about the Z was how it handled compared to other bikes I have ridden, gave me bags of confidence in the corners and if you really wanted to you could go veeeeerrrrrrrryyyyy fast on it very easily.
I'm not knocking the Fazer at all it looks great and the numbers looks very tasty but you will not get away from the new Z1000 on it. It would all come down to what floats your boat at the end of the day, although I think the new Z will be on my "next bike" list! :)

yamboy
I have only ridden the first generation fazer. The new generation is very appealing i must admit. The z1000s handling is what made it fun/funny. and performance and power isnt what most would class as 'fun' I think that mots people would have more fun on a ktm 640 supermoto than a hayabusa...

Z1000 vs StreetFighter
Is it Z1000 comparable to Ducati StreetFighter? I think it's more in a league wit CB1000R. Higher come Ducati SF, Aprilia Tuono, Triumph SpeedTriple.
Is it possible that Z1000 is better then I think?

steady2wheels you are talking out of your arse.
I had a 2004 Z1000, Tuned with 4 into 1 race pipe, power commander etc, genuine 130 bhp at the rear wheel, great fun, loved the bike.
I have moved up in the world and now have a 2007 Yam FZ1 naked in lovely yellow paintwork, tuned with pipe, power commander (custom map by BSD racing) filter etc, geniune 148.5 bhp at the rear wheel.
This bike handles far better than the old Z1000 and considering this new Z1000 only pushes out 131 bhp at the rear, my "OLD MANS" bike as you call it, would piss all over it.
