We already know that the Aprilia RSV4 is great on track, but how does it perform on the road?
To find out, watch the video for our test of the RSV4 on road and track in sunny Portugal. Full story in the next MCN, on sale 6 January 2010.

Better than?
Ok, clearly people have different reasons for and ways of riding. But within a specific category there are the good, bad and ugly (I am referring to the performance not the looks as, personally, I don’t really care what it looks like as I want the best performance).
I have ridden many sports bikes and there are huge differences – not in how fast they can be ridden, (as this is down to how good a rider you are and there is always someone faster – probably a lot faster, unless you name is Rossi), but in how they feel and handle. I ride to get around quickly and for fast touring, I am not interested in bumbling along behind traffic, so I look for an agile bike that has lost of torque and great handling. My current K6 GSXR1000 is by far he best bike I have had, but I have not yet tried the new R1, BMW S1000R or RSV4. I am really looking forward to trying these, and I shall be amazed, (and I hope I will), if they are significantly better than the K6 (as it does everything extremely well, is ballistically fast and is also very comfortable for up to 350 miles). So (and this is the point of this diatribe), who has ridden the K6 and pushed it a bit and found a significantly better bike? Since you can get a K6 for about £5K, it does need to be a bit better doesn’t it if your shelling out £12K plus? Cheers JP

Let us hear the engine
I can never understand why producers of videos like this wipe out the engine sound with some crappy music. I want to know what the bike looks like, I want to hear what the bike sounds like.
