The new 2010 Kawasaki Z1000 is the first Japanese naked that can really call itself 'super' and take the fight to the European big hitters like the Ducati Streetfighter, KTM Super Duke or MV Agusta Brutale. But the daddy of them all is the Triumph Speed Triple. Watch the video to find out if the Z1000 has what it takes to take on the top dog.

Antnee... talking out of yer bum crack, mate. The 675 only won the 600s test last year presumably because it is better for the money? The Speet Triple wins because it is very good... but read between the lines and you'll see even MCN are now saying it is dated and the Z1000 is also good, as is the CB1000R. As for non-Triumph owners being upset... get a grip, mate. And to the other bloke (Clem) who says MCN testers own Street Triples, your wrong. Not one of them owns a modern Triumph. I know this because I live up the road from one of MCN's advertising reps.

This has really turned into a slagging match about who has the best SUPER NAKED! Well like a few have already said, its a personal choice!
My Opinion is that I think the new Kwak Z1000 Has some good points, but its not all there 100% just needs a few tweeks! I think after fitting a new PVC that low down grunt could be sorted! Being a CB1000R owner, I would never change! and yes have test ridden all the others, and the CB suited me best, a good all rounder, good looks (all round), bloody good (mad) engine, and excellent MODS for it too..
Re: The Speed Tripel, yes it always seems to get more PRESS than any other NAKED, whether thats because most MCN testers own them I dont know, but there does seem to be a bit of favour towards it!!! Fek knows what its going to be like when a new one comes out?

To Antee all those CB1000R fans. It does look better than the Z but it's a safe street bike. I've given one a go and it was great but not exciting. I could handle it from the off but..... on the ST I felt like I had to tame it which means it didn't get boring in half an hour. That's probably what the new Z is all about. If its's half as crazy as the ZX10 then you'll need balls to ride it. It looks mad because it is. I don't think MCN are biased towards the Brit ST they just know their stuff. These bikes are about feeling the speed and being a bit crazy, wheelies and all. Looks like MCN are saying Kawasaki, a Jap builder, aren't scared to scare us unlike Honda etc.
