Shaft drive
And the point of shaft drive, I agree. But will a Ducati with Shaft Drive ever come? It is not likely in my opinion.

Price
We should not compare a standard GS with the 1200s. The 1200s has Ohlins suspension, "ESA", ABS, etc bla bla. Having those options on the GS and the price will be comparable. The basic 1200 without any options, just like the standard GS costs £1000-s less. Just waiting to see what it looks like in Enduro mode and proper engine bar protection similar to KTM and GS. Or this may never come and is only meant for minor offroading. I think it is a great bike and it might take market share away from KTM's and GS, but also the sport tourers market. A GS beater, not sure, but for me, yes.

I can see one MAHOOSIVE problem with this that'll affect people doing big mileages and using it as it's intended...for a 14 thousand pound tourer...14 thousand, intended to do big miles, why on earth hasn't it got shaft drive?!
And it's just another case of a bike being overpriced because it wears a Ducati badge. Don't get me wrong, it's stunning, but it costs 2-3 grand more than a similar spec BMWw GS (that works off road, can be dropped, picked up and still work etc) or an RT, which will be a better tourer than the Multistrada and, well I can't really see a downside.
Each and everyone to there own, I suppose the looks and badge are still worth a bit more than others.
