Video: KTM SMT ABS first ride

KTM's new SMT has bucked the trend for ever-increasing bike prices - it undercuts the outgoing model by £350.

Not only that, the new bike has ABS as standard where the old bike didn't - and the company claims the system sets a new benchmark for braking.

NICE BIKE,BUT IT GOT A HERNIA!?

I like KTM but the old 990 engine always reminds me of a hernia about to happen in the space frame.

It looks lost.

I wonder when KTM are going to update the engines looks with the new 1200 heads to fill out the frame a bit?

Apart from this little gripe excellent and different looking machines.To quality suspension and brakes.For the price though one thing i'd really like to see is the use of carbon fibre here and there,as having seen these bikes up close,HHMM,some of the plastics look a little DUSTY BIN especially in matt black.

Just need a nice comfy gel seat and off you go.

I hope there will be more information in the future than this about the ABS system on the KTM 990 SMT by MCN. For the moment I am disapointed about this video and information of this first ride. Next, please do something about the very bad audio quality. Shame on you!

joking aside hope this ktm willbe a easiliy managble one , struggling to keep a 990 ktm adventure 2006 from new and fed up with problems ( pitty that is a very nice bike )

Judging by the echoing sound of the commentary it sounds like half the video was recorded in the toilet. Maybe the KTM ABS has that effect on you afterwards?
