Boot review: Hein Gericke Maxwell GTX
17 July 2009 14:39
What’s good? I wanted a pair of boots to keep my feet warm and dry, that I could polish when needed, that I could wear on most bikes without looking out of place and which were fuss-free to put on and take off.
The Maxwell GTX boots are exactly that, with gearshift pads on both feet, so if you are like me and ride old Brit bikes as well as modern ones, the tops are protected.
I have not had wet feet at all so far (and I have been out on some very wet days). They offer good protection and fit neatly under jeans.
What’s not? In the really hot weather we have been experiencing lately, my feet have reached meltdown.
Flip-flops may have kept them cool, but offer very little protection.
