Boot review: Frank Thomas Classic

Frank Thomas Classic boot, £89.99
Miles covered/time: 3000/four months
What’s good? Unlike so many pairs of boots I’ve had in the past, these were an instantly comfortable fit from the first day I slipped them over my feet.
I really like the classic style of them, too – they feel really good and secure on the bike riding over to the Ace Café and they don’t look out of place in the car park among the countless pairs of classic biker boots.
What they have over a true ’60s-style boot is hard armour in the shin – a huge bonus.
What’s not? There’s little to criticise in these boots – I’ve always got on well with Frank Thomas kit.
It generally does exactly what it set out to, in an understated way.
However, I do have one gripe after four months of use through the spring and summer – the rear entry (gulp) zipper can be more difficult to fasten than the more common side zips you’ll find on most other boots.
