What’s good: For the past three months these Aerostich Competition Elkskin gloves have been my number one choice, possibly due to the extreme comfort, due to such soft Elkskin leather.
Based on a ranch worker’s glove they are designed to be strong enough to cope with the rigors of a cowboy’s daily work, so to twist a throttle and pull in a lever is positively light in comparison. A hook and loop (similar to Velcro) wrist strap secures across the back of the hand, while the knuckles are protected by a strip of impact foam held in place by an additional sewn on strip of Elkskin.
The left thumb has a small rubber visor squeegee stitched into the seam – a nice touch that helps keep a clear view for those wetter days. Simple, unlined, comfortable, light.
What’s not: They do give a bit, so make sure you take your time and order the correct size. Plus, factor in the Import duty as they’ll be posted from the US.
