Dainese X-ILE gloves, £74.99
Time tested: 1500 miles
What’s good? I love these gloves. For warm(ish) weather riding in the dry, they’re perfect. Comfortable, well fitting, and stylish, they’re also well-protected, with thick leather palms and carbon on the knuckles. I’ve crashed in them, putting my hand on tarmac at 30mph, and there wasn’t a single mark on the gloves afterwards. For that, though, they’re not restrictive. I initially bought them so I could still take photos while wearing them at the TT, so they allow nice ease of finger movement. On top of all that, £75 for Italian leather gloves from a big manufacturer like Dainese is a bit of bargain!
What’s not? Nothing you wouldn’t expect - they’re not waterproof, they’re not great when it’s cold. But they do exactly what a summer shorty glove should.
