Product name: Teknic Xcelerator suit, £799.99
Miles covered/time: 3000/one year

What’s good? The fit is amazing, and the part-kangaroo construction helps contribute to a lightweight feel. It’s heavily ventilated too, so for hard track sessions or racing you’re kept cool and your movement unhindered. I put the protection to the test too – highsiding a Fireblade at 50mph threw me hard on my right side before sliding along on my front. The result is only a small hole in leather over the knee armour, and I got away without any real damage. The suit is still wearable too – I’d get the knee patched up for piece of mind.

What’s not? The appearance. The mostly white construction looks nice to start with, but quickly gets grubby and is hard to get clean again. Every colour option is based on white, so you need an OCD cleaning habit to keep them nice. Getting the calf zip done up is a fiddle too.
