Protection specialist Knox is set to release their most technically advanced back protector yet, the Knox Aegis.

Statistics show that 25% of critical motorcycle accidents affect the spine, but still a large proportion of motorcyclists choose not to wear a back protector. Knox aims to tackle this problem with the Aegis by focusing on comfort, safety and style.

The Aegis comes in seven different sizes and has three different fits for men, women and children. As well as this the Aegis features a multi-position waist strap for the perfect fit. The shoulder straps adjust automatically.

The Knox Aegis is 30% lighter than previous models and has a system of flex channels to help it sculpt around the back of the wearer.

Protection-wise the Aegis features a fully adjustable and removable kidney section. The inclined cell wall technology used gives the Aegis increased energy absorption. It is independently tested to EN1621-2 level 2.

Prices vary according to size, but a regular men’s eight-plate protector is priced at £79.99.
