What’s good? Many people, those who ride and those who don’t, have commented that it doesn’t look like a bike jacket. I think that’s a good thing. It manages to combine a casual look, a claimed waterproof and breathable construction, CE-approved armour and a thick foam back pad, to make something that I’ve relied on daily for the last two months of commuting.
What’s not? The length of the arms. With the removable lining in place, the sleeves ride up slightly, but not enough to let in too much breeze. However, with the lining removed, the sleeves ride up my arms by several inches, exposing my forearms, even when I’m wearing gloves with long cuffs. The wind travelling up the sleeves is enough to billow the jacket at the back. I’ve tried the small (my usual size) and medium (this one) – the small is even worse, so I opted for a roomier fit in the chest to get a longer sleeve. No dice.
