Yamaha’s 2009 R6 met its updated rivals at Calafat in the February 4 edition of MCN. Here, we’re showing you some of the official accessories you can throw at it to make it faster and look better.

Here’s our pick of the official Yamaha accessories to fit to the Yamaha R6.

Double-bubble screen (£82.99

Direct the worst of air turbulence over your head when in a tank-hugging racing crouch. Or straight at your head if you’re not really on it.

Carbon mudguard (£157.99)

There’s a time and a place for colour-matched plastics. 2009 and on the front mudguard are neither, so give your R6 the edge with a splash of high-pressurised racing carbon.

Carbon rear hugger (£143.99)

We’ve not seen a cooler-looking hugger. Look at it – it even has race-style cut-outs to optimise airflow.

Seat cowl (£136.99)

Sharpen up the looks, eliminate any provision for a passenger. Sounds like a plan to us.

Crash bobbins (£113.99)

Anodized alloy brackets and nylon bungs should prevent untold damage to your R6 in the event of topplage. Price is a bit salty, though.
