Tucano Urbano off-road and custom-bike cover, £40.99
Time owned:
Nine months

What’s good: Some covers I’ve used rub on bodywork under the motion of the wind, damaging paintwork over time. This has a silky-soft lining which should prevent that.

It’s easy to sling over the bike, roomy enough to accommodate a top box and has holes along the hem for a drawstring to hold it in place. There’s also a neat bag to store it in.

What’s not: Bizarrely, despite the holes for a drawstring, no actual drawstring is included. There are also no holes to thread a security chain through – the drawstring holes are too small – and so no way to prevent it getting nicked.

As someone who has lost a cover to thieves before, this is problematic.
