Venhill Carrying sockets and drivers tool set, £25

What’s good: I am a huge fan of T-bars and the fact you can use this set as either straight or T-bar is an absolute plus, allowing you to get a really good purchase on whatever you are trying to undo.

This is a very nice quality tool set, from the moment you open it, the steel (heat-treated chrome alloy) used to make the sockets and drivers is excellent. The sockets are quite deep so you can still get onto a nut even when there is excess thread sticking through the nut.

The ball end Hex bits are good if you have got to undo the Allen bolt at an angle.

The comprehensive kit includes Phillips, flat and hex bits, plus 8, 10 and 12mm sockets, and a handy carry case.

What’s not: Nothing I have come across, it’s a well thought-out kit that caters for most eventualities.
