Go Pro HD Hero 2 camera, £299.99
Tester: Michael Neeves
Time tested: 30,000 miles/one year
What’s good? Go-Pro video cameras are easy to use and produce clear, top-quality images. I’ve been using mine for MCN road tests and videos of my racing for a year. With the bracket-mounts and suction cups, the trick is find the most unusual place to put it on the bike, or on you, to capture striking footage. The battery lasts a few hours. It’s being replaced by the Hero 3. See my films on MCN’s YouTube channel.
What’s not? A display at the front of the camera tells you if it’s switched on and in the right mode, so you can’t operate it while riding. Scrolling through the modes is fiddly and to view, or edit your files in HD, you need a powerful computer.
