Best tyres for a 4000-mile Alpine tour

1 of 1

I’m doing a 4000-mile tour round central Europe in August and I need a new set of rubber before I go. What should I use on my Bandit? It will be a mix between motorways and Alpine roads and will last three weeks. I will be camping so I will have a fair amount of stuff on the back. I currently use Continental Contimotion but I have nearly worn the rear out after 3000 miles

A set of dual-compound tyres would be best – the usual suspects are Dunlop Roadsmarts, Pirelli Angel STs, Bridgestone 023s or Michelin Pilot Road 2s. Any of these should give you enough tread to come home with some rubber to spare.
