76 year old Brit Simon Gandolfi and best-selling author of Old Man on a Bike has embarked on an epic six-month lap of India aboard Honda’s brand new 125 Stunner.
The former novelist says he’s undertaken the trip in order to stay warm in winter and get out from under his wife’s feet. You can read all about the first leg of his journey in MCN soon, but you can get a flavour of his travels in this video.
Gandolfi is well chuffed with his 180mpg, 11bhp ‘café racer’, which at £700 is a premium model in the Indian 125 sector. The father of five is heading south from Rajasthan to Gujarat, then south to Goa for his 77th birthday.
Kerala follows, before he turns north through Tamil Nadu and on north to Assam and Sikim. Finally the journey will take him west along the foothills of the Himalayas and back to Delhi. He previously rode 40,000 miles through South America on an even humbler 125.
