Bikes, beer and bikes at MCN Live

More than 4,000 people flocked to Skegness at the weekend for the best ever MCN Live!

The bi-annual spectacular, in association with Carole Nash, saw some of the world’s leading stunt riders have a crack at some daring world records, a 350-strong ride out snake through the countryside, dozens of bands perform and a veritable feast of other entertainment crow barred in to three sun-soaked days.

The event took place at Butlin’s in Skegness and the resorts venues were heaving day and night as readers lapped up the entertainment on offer or just took the chance to soak up some rays and enjoy the sunshine with an ice cold beer.

Revellers boogied in to the wee small hours in one of three themed venues, specialising in rock, party or dance tunes.

Hells/Bells, and AC/DC tribute were one of the highlights in the rock venue, 80s pop sensation Chesney Hawkes headlined in the party venue and the Rat Pack provided the tunes in the dance venue.

Saturday’s unofficial fancy dress night was a roaring success with most people getting in the spirit dragging out superhero, pirate, caveman, fairy and the usual host of cross-dressing costumes.

For the first time ever MCN hosted its own Bikers’ Blind Date, where unlucky-in-love singletons went on stage to win a date paid for by MCN, and if they are a match-made in heaven MCN will pay for them to head back for the October event.

There was also an area bustling with trade stands selling kit to cater for all your biking needs, and stands chocked full of new metal, including a one-off 09 R1 Toseland replica created by CMC Motorcycles and Honda's new 09 range.

More than 350 people hopped on their bikes to participate in the 62-mile ride-out to Tattershall Castle, lead by MCN’s editor Marc Potter and a team of MCN staff on their long-term test bikes.

MCN’s eagle eyed photographers captured all of the highlights of this awesome weekend and have posted their bumper photo albums on this page for your viewing pleasure.

Finally, we would love to know all about your MCN Live experience so find out how to share your holiday stories and post your photos here.
