Bike Show Disappointment

I visited the bike show at the NEC on Monday. It's been about 3 years since I last went & I have to say for me it was somewhat of a let down.

The fact that Honda didn't make the effort & the italian stables didn't show either was for a long established show like this quite farsical.

I say the Italians didn't show, the only presence was Ducati with a stand the size of a sixpence & 2 (these were all we could find) bikes.

I felt the general mood of the show was also rather subdued. I know it's been a tough year with the strangling fiancial situation which undoubtedly has created problems for all the participants.

However if this show is to retain its credibility it needs all the main contenders to take part.

Based on what I saw i'd rather the show had been taken off the calendar for the year in the hope that with a year of better fortune the show could have presented itself as the spectacle it should have been.

Instead I was left with the feeling that I wouldn't go again!

On a lighter note I would applaud those that did make an effort & in particular BMW whose stand was second to none with polite & helpful staff.

I've never particularly been a BMW fan but with their presentation & current model line up they have a new admirer along with many other i'm sure.
