Charley Boorman ends tour with sell-out evening at Vines

Vines of Guildford BMW hosted a sell-out evening with Charley Boorman recently to celebrate the end of his tour promoting his TV series By Any Means and the opening of the Vines re-designed car and motorcycle showrooms.
He was joined by over 350 fans to hear his stories from his four notable motorcycle adventures By Any Means, Long Way Down, Race to Dakar and Long Way Round.
The subsequent queue to have books, DVDs and parts of motorcycles signed extended through the whole building and finally at 11 o’clock an exhausted Charley started his BMW R1200GS Adventure and rode off with a massive wheelie.
Charley, who takes his love for motorcycles and travel from his early days globe trotting and working with John Boorman, his father, has a long-standing relationship with Vines of Guildford as both he and Ewan McGregor chose their clothing for the Long Way Down expedition from the dealership.
Vines of Guildford gave the pair invaluable advice about their clothing and motorcycles, the BMW R1200GS Adventures, which were hugely modified to make them totally Africa-proof.
Nick Plumbe from Touratech was on hand for the evening with a highly modified R1200GS Adventure to advertise the range of accessories available.
Duncan Bell, Motorcycle Director at Vines of Guildford BMW, commented: “The evening was a total success; we even had to print extra tickets. People queued from 9.30pm – 11pm to get their books and DVDs signed and Charley was happy to oblige.”
