One eager Yamaha V-Max owner was so desperate to get a bike that he paid a deposit at the MCN London Motorcycle Show yesterday and then paid off the rest to a Yamaha dealer over the phone so he could ensure he could pick the bike up tomorrow (Saturday).

The Yamaha stand at the MCN London Motorcycle Show is being manned by staff from five different Yamaha dealers – and so far they have sold the V-Max for £16,000 and a new FJ6 Diversion.

The customer will be picking the bike up tomorrow. Tony Moore of Moore's Motorcycles said: “The customer walked in, sat on the bike and then asked how he could buy it there and then.

"He didn't buy it from my dealership but it was one of the other guys here. He paid a deposit over the phone and then the rest later in the day and wants to pick the bike up tomorrow.”

he MCN London Motorcycle Show runs until Sunday February 1 at ExCel in Docklands.
