Well over 5,000 bikes rode into the city centre for the 4th annual Lincoln Bike Fest on Sunday 14th June.
Thousands of bikers wandered along the waterfront or relaxed at the pavement café’s listening to the sounds of rock and blues throughout the day and taking in the atmosphere.
It couldn’t have been better, with the sun shining and the boats sailing in and out, the local café’s put on BBQ’s and the Sea Cadets served Bacon Butties through the day.
About 30 traders and clubs were along the river bank giving visitors a range of things to admire or buy and the responses from traders and clubs was that the interest was overwhelming.
Local racer Peter Hickman attended with his Ultimate Racing Yamaha, along with many other similar attractions from race bikes to sidecar outfits.
Being in the city centre, many non-bikers wandered through from the shops and admired the bikes on display or sat back and enjoyed the music from local bands ‘Gin House’ and ‘Firing Squad’.
The local restaurants and bars who line the Brayford Waterfront were thrilled with the response saying it’s been their busiest day this year.
Wolds Bikers who organise the event would like to thank the bands, traders, clubs and bikers who support them each year, but mostly a huge thanks to their members who worked exceptionally hard this year!
Sadly many comments were made yet again about the lack of support from the local dealerships who most visitors want to see there, but hopefully all the visitors will go back and complain to them individually.
We’ve been inundated with calls so far to find out the date for next year, so………watch this space!
