I am a Store Manager working for Sainsbury’s in Banbury.
Each year l do a ride for either Comic or Sports relief. Last year 60 of us rode around Wales in a day in the freezing cold snow and raised a staggering £18,000 for Red Nose Day.
This year is not different and l am organising the biggest ever treasure hunt done on bikes in history (well until someone tells me they had more).
We set off from my store in Banbury (Oxford Road) and head over to Snetterton (where we have all been invited to do a couple of laps) – on the way out there (150 miles) we have to find clues of sporting events, take a picture (best pictures win prizes) and then head onto the next one.
We are starting at intervals from 8am on the 21st March so no one follows each other!
At Snetterton we have a big press call, never before have they had 100 riders wearing Sport Relief t-shirts (over leathers) riding the track at the same time.
After that and some lunch we head back to my store where we will be awarding the prizes and hope to get a local sporting legend to give these out.
All l ask of each rider is to obtain sponsorship and pay a £5 entry fee (which covers the cost of the t-shirt). Now the hard bit, l need riders.
I have mail shot 60 names and addresses of those that took part last year but really do want to get it to the magical 100, could you help?
