Sunday 21st February is the date for 'The Celebration of Speedway' show at Paradise Wildlife Park in Broxbourne Hertfordshire.

Originally held every February at High Beech in Epping Forest to celebrate the birth in 1928,of Speedway, or, 'Dirt Track Racing' as it was then known, the event has been moved to Paradise Wildlife Park which has better facilities and also is the home of the National Speedway Museum.

Entry to the Speedway Exhibition is free, just tell the Pay Cabin that you are there for the Celebration of Speedway and you can visit the Museum, see Speedway machines from pre-war Douglas and Rudge bikes, up to Ice Racing Jawas and modern lay-down GM Grand Prix bikes.

There will be a BBQ, a Bar, aCycle Speedway demonstration and plenty of other food outlets and you can also wander round the Park and see everything from Tigers, to White Lions, to Meerkats and even pet rabbits, so it is a great day out for the family too.

Some of the bikes will be fired up during the day and you can hear unsilenced Japs, Rudge & Jawa machines with straight-through pipes and that wonderful whiff of Castrol 'R' in the air.
