On Sunday 20th March 2011, the first running of what will hopefully be an annual event, will take place in Cheshire.

Several local Motorcycle clubs have come together to organise a charity event in aid of St Luke’s Hospice in Winsford.

South Cheshire Motorcycle Club, Northwest Bikers, Beartown Bikers, Kings MCC and The Greedy Pigs will be staging a twenty mile ride, open to all types of motorcycles and mopeds, who will pay £4 per bike to enter.

The ride will leave St Luke’s Hospice in Winsford at noon, taking a picturesque route through the Cheshire countryside, ending at The Jolly Tar, Wardle.

There will be two live bands playing throughout the afternoon and a free draw for items donated by local motorcycle dealers, for those with an entry ticket.

The riders will be directed by marshals placed at all significant roundabouts and junctions along the route. All riders will be expected to be road legal and abide by the Highway Code.

Aims: to raise money for St Luke’s Hospice, to promote the positive image of motorcyclists, to have fun and meet new people.

History: St Luke’s hospice approached South Cheshire Motorcycle Club last summer asking if we could organise a fund raising motorcycle ride out, (as happens regularly in Stoke-on-Trent).

As we are only a small club and don’t have the resources to do something on the same scale as Stoke, we liaised with other local clubs and have organised an event where all the money raised goes to St Luke’s.

People have donated their time, resources and expertise, from administrators and marshals to musicians.
