Almost 4000 people made sure that heavy April showers didn't dampen spirits at MCN Live! at Butlins in Skegness last weekend, with a full program of motorcycle stunt riding, live bands, and top name DJs carrying on regardless.

Former World Superbike champion James Toseland performed with his band Crash on Friday night with popstar singer girlfriend Katie Melua watching and cheering from the side of the stage. The couple spent the entire weekend at Butlins with her family.

Torrential rain on Friday caused a portion of the ceiling of one hall to cave in, but this just meant that venue’s DJs were moved to a larger arena where thousands danced to famous DJ Brandon Block.

Despite the dreadful weather forecast on Saturday there were still more than 60 hardy riders who braved the organised ride-out from Butlins to Tattershall Lakes.

MCN's deputy editor Ped Baker said: "We set off in bright sunshine, so we were hoping for a decent ride. Then the heavens opened and we got absolutely drenched. I think most riders stayed in the bar after that…"
